Conservative undercover at Obama town hall. Hysterical.

Hat Tip to the always fantastic Hot Air.

I don’t care who you are, this is funny.  Jason Materra went undercover at a pro-Obama town hall meeting and managed to get the protestors to speak their minds by acting like one of them.  This is well worth watching.

I am very tempted to do that myself.  That would be fun, though I would have to practice acting like I was riding the crest of the IQ Bell Curve like the rest of the myrmidons.  Jason does a good job of it.

Senate Bill Allows President to Shut Down Internet!

FoxNews is reporting that the new Cybersecurity Act of 2009 would grant the president powers to shut down the internet or portions thereof.

A Senate bill would offer President Obama emergency control of the Internet and may give him a “kill switch” to shut down online traffic by seizing private networks — a move cybersecurity experts worry will choke off industry and civil liberties.

Details of a revamped version of the Cybersecurity Act of 2009 emerged late Thursday, months after an initial version authored by Sen. Jay Rockefeller, D-W.V., was blasted in Silicon Valley as dangerous government intrusion.

“In the original bill they empowered the president to essentially turn off the Internet in the case of a ‘cyber-emergency,’ which they didn’t define,” said Larry Clinton, president of the Internet Security Alliance, which represents the telecommunications industry.

“We think it’s a very bad idea … to put in legislation,” he told FOXNews.com.

I expect every single person who ever contemptuously uttered the phrase “Patriot Act” to come out loudly against this egregious anti-privacy bill, just as I expect them to oppose the almost certain attempt by the Obama administration to institute the Fairness Doctrine to attack media outlets that are not in the administration’s back pocket.

No, I do not really expect that.  I have observed the Left for too many years to believe that they will apply their righteous indignation in the direction of their messiah President.

It is indeed Obama’s Waterloo

I saw President Obama on the news making a big deal about republican Sen. Jim DeMint’s words when describing the significance of the health care legislation being rammed through by Obama.  DeMint was speaking on a conference call and made a perfect analogy that is now being used as bulletin board pin up material by the hard left.  DeMint said:

If we’re able to stop Obama on this, it will be his Waterloo. It will break him.

DeMint’s Waterloo analogy is right for two reasons.  First, it is true that if conservatives can stop Obama’s socialist momentum now it will likely mark the high water mark of his push to transform America into a Euro-Socialist state just as Waterloo marked the end of Napolean’s more violent but similarly brazen attempt to bully his way into making everyone else live under his thumb.  Second, the analogy works because in both cases we have blustering beta males who compensate by pretending to be alpha males.  As an aside, it’s interesting that Napolean tried to make Europe submit to him whereas Obama just wants to make America into Europe.

The President, falling back on his obfuscation playbook, is pretending that the republicans are making it about him… so that he can make it about him.  Everyone who is not still chanting “Yes We Can” in their empty head knows that America is experiencing a showdown between wildly differing ideologies and an attempt by the hard left to radically redefine the appropriate relationship between the State and the People.  Obama would certainly prefer to pretend that this is about him rather than admit that he is attempting to remake America into something that the founding fathers and constitutional scholars would not recognize.  Pretending that this is about him just works as cover for his radical anti-freedom agenda.  Saul Alinsky would be so proud of his statist student who managed to slither his way into the presidency.

I am not saying that I am willing to go so far as to start drawing analogies between the guys who stopped an aggressive tyrant before (Wellington and Blucher) and the people who are finally starting to make headway now (Levin, DeMint, Ryan).  But I do not think that living under Napolean’s thumb would have been any worse than living under the Brave New World dreamed of by the dangerous statist Barack Obama and his personality cult of selfish myrmidons.

Urkel’s shine is fading

President Obama’s numbers continue to fall, despite the best attempts by his steadfast followers in the US media.

Part of the reason is that people are starting to realize that he is the hard left statist that so many of us warned during the coronation election; his actions are Chavez while his talk campaign talk was Reagan/Clinton.  Another part of the reason is that Obama’s myrmidons (if you still support him you just may be one, particularly if you are unfamiliar with that insulting word) are starting to question why he is not succeeding in spending his way out of this recession.  Not many of President Urkel’s followers are too sharp on Economics 101, which shows how this clown got elected.

To get to the point, Rasmussen is reporting that POTUS’ Presidential Approval Index has dropped to a minus 8.  This number is calculated by subtracting the percentage of people who strongly disapprove of the president’s performance from the percentage of people who strongly approve.  In this case the numbers are 36 and 28 percent respectively.  The independent voters, who for some reason fell under the spell of the Obama Personality Cult, are coming out of their stupor, fickle voters that they are.

National Debt Road Trip

This is a great video showing the rate of increased debt under the new administration.  Just watch it.

Just damn.  Send that to your liberal friends.

Check out these Obama Lunatics

I am not suggesting that all Obama supporters are lunatics.  Most are just either collectivists, naive, or simply GOP haters.  But the people over at The Obama Forum are the very fascists that they like to call others.  As an aside, you know that you are winning an argument with a Leftist when they call you a fascist and you know you are slaying them in an argument when they call you a Nazi.

One of their forums has people outing their anti-Obama parents by name and reporting if they own guns!  I am not kidding.

For the youth today it is hard to understand parents who don’t support Obama. This is common for many of the young people of this generation, just as the youth back during the civil rights era had parents who just didn’t understand the racism like they saw it. Many of you are struggling with the fact that your parents just don’t get it. They don’t feel the same about Obama the way that you do. They still cling to their old ways of guns and bibles and greedy capitalism. You know better. You know that Obama, and the Democratic marjority, can run things better than those greedy corporations. You know that the best way to run an industry is to nationalize that industry.

Although that sounds like satire, it is not.  These people are nut jobs.  What self-contratulatory garbage that they liken themselves to the people in the civil rights movement.  It reminds me of the subtitle of one of Thomas Sowell’s books: Self Congratulation as a Basis for Social Policy.

That is why this thread has been created. For you, the future of our nation, to let us know who your parents are. Tell us the names of those who do not support Obama the way that you do. Let us know if your parents own guns, or wish ill will toward the government. Let us know before it is too late for you and too late for your country.

It is the patriotic thing to do. Let the government take care of this problem for you.

List your parents name here.

Things are going to change I can feel it.
Part of me really hopes that this is some very well done satire site, but that does not seem to be the case.
These people are lunatics.  Check out the forum here.
UPDATE: Some commenters, who perhaps had a little more time on their hands to troll through the posts at The Obama Forum, suggest that it is a well done satire.  That actually may be the case, but given the utter (and typical) lack of class shown on sites like Democratic Underground and Daily Kos, it is/was not a stretch at all to believe this.  This kind of myrmidon tripe is par for the course for the hard Left.

Beware Government “Investing”

It becomes government control, as Mark Steyn points out over at The Corner:

Incidentally, the government “overhaul” of GM is a useful shorthand for where we’re heading:

You’d be surprised how painlessly and smoothly once-free peoples slip from government “investing” to government control.

The first quid pro quo for the government giving you money (or “investing”, as President Obama and David Brooks say) is that it gets to regulate your behavior. Not just who sits on your board or (see Sarkozy last week) where your factory has to be. When the government “pays” for your health care, it reserves the right to deny (as in parts of Britain) heart disease treatment for smokers or hip replacement for the obese. Why be surprised? When the state’s “paying” for your health, your lifestyle directly impacts its “investment.”

The next stage is that, having gotten you used to having your behavior regulated, the state advances to approving not just what you do but what you’re allowed to read, see, hear, think: See the “Canadian Content” regulations up north, and the enforcers of the “human rights” commissions. Or Britain’s recent criminalization of “homophobic jokes.”

Remember that the government that can give you everything can (and often will) take everything away.  That power is a double-edged sword.   I think that Obama myrmidons are simply so in love with him that they believe that he would never do anything harmful to them.  Don’t forget the quote from Lenin that you cannot make an omelet without breaking a few eggs; that was his justification for the deaths of the Russians who stood in his way.
