Beware Immigration “Reform”

There are many doublespeak catch-phrases utilized by politicians.  They start talking about “investing” rather than “spending”.  They talk of “revenue” when what they are really talking about are taxes.  And of course we all got sick of “for the children”.  But there is one classicly misleading word that  they love to use to get the proles to go along with something: reform.  To the regular people out here, reform is a good thing, it implies not only a change but a change that rectifies something that was wrong before.  What kind of monster could be against reform?

Proving yet again that when politicians talk of reform they are simply trying to change the system to their own advantage, the New York Times is reporting that the President is preparing action on “Immigration Reform”.  I suppose that with an illegal alien aunt living here in the states one could argue that the President is merely acting on a conflict of interest.  After all, who knows how many other Obama relatives may be living illegally in the US at this very moment?

But the cynic in me, the guy who sees the power grabs that the President is making and can smell the hardball Chicago politics in everything that he does, knows that this is just about power.  Like his White House seizure of the Census this is about power and about having more and more people dependent on him and his party.  President Obama believes that the 12+ million illegal aliens living in the US will reliably vote for the party that plays false race politics and offers them handouts.  During these very tough economic times many people who are already citizens are hurting, taking any job that they can find to pay the mortgage, but the president wants to add these millions to the legal employment pool.  What exactly is that all about?  Is that reform to you, reform that is good for America?

If you take nothing away from this post, at least always stop yourself and take a big wide look at an issue when people from the government are talking about reform.  They are not necessarily there to help you, friend.  As always, they are more likely there to help themselves to yours.

  1. The age-old pesky U.S.-Mexico border problem has taxed the resources of both countries, led to long lists of injustices, and appears to be heading only for worse troubles in the future. Guess what? The border problem can never be solved. Why? Because the border IS the problem! It’s time for a paradigm change.

Never fear, a satisfying, comprehensive solution is within reach: the Megamerge Dissolution Solution. Simply dissolve the border along with the failed Mexican government, and megamerge the two countries under U.S. law, with mass free 2-way migration eventually equalizing the development and opportunities permanently, with justice and without racism, and without threatening U.S. sovereignty or basic principles.

  2. I disagree completely with your proposed solution but love the debate! For one thing, that culture is so infected with corruption that it would take a couple of generations to beat it out of them. FWIW, if we did not let all of their rabblerousers sneak across our border they would have stayed there and likely forced a positive change in their corrupt government.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you will do so again.
