UK TV pansies

This is ridiculous… the Advertising Standards Authority in the UK has decided that an ad for the DVD version of an Angelina Jolie movie shows too much gun action.

The film follows the initiation of an office drudge Wesley Gibson (played by James McAvoy ) into a mythical group of super-powered assassins. The ad for the DVD release shows McAvoy and co-star Jolie wielding pistols, a shotgun, and generally spraying scene after scene with bullets.

The authority said the ad — which juxtaposes images of gun violence with Jolie showing off her bare back — “could be seen to condone violence by glorifying or glamorizing the use of guns.”

I am starting to think that every man in the UK who is not terrified of guns must be a member of the SAS.  You Brits have some tough soldiers, but your populace….

The ruling underlined Britain’s sensitivity to gun crime.

Have you limey’s figured out that the worst thing that you can do is disarm the law abiding citizens, making them easy prey for the criminals (who, being criminals, will ignore your stupid gun laws) ???  What a bunch of short-sighted pansies.

  1. Do you really think we’re going to take gun advice from a Country that has a worse gun death rate per 100,000 than Italy, Switzerland, Canada, Finland, Australia, France, England, Wales, Scotland, and Japan combined?

We don’t want guns anywhere near our houses. The majority of our robberies and other criminal activities do not involve guns. We don’t want your ridiculous gun culture over here.

  2. No, I do not expect you to do that. Heck, you guys are heading straight for Sharia law; you have far more serious things to think about.

I read of a lot about at-home robberies over there, since your thugs do not fear armed victims like our thugs do – our criminals are wary to try to rob an occupied house as they have a good chance of meeting up with an armed homeowner.

So in your gun-free, responsibility-free utopia, when an old lady gets people breaking into her house, she calls those “bobbies” and just waits, right? Here she can defend herself. Sure, it is not guaranteed that she will succeed, but she has the right to defend herself. Guns are the great equalizer.

That right to arms and self-defense is what separates “citizens” from “subjects”.
