U.S. economy predicted to collapse under socialism

[Thanks to my buddy Rusty for passing along the link to the article.]

Writing at OneNewsNow, Pete Chagnon points out that the weight of socialist programs will be too much for the US Economy to survive through these tough financial times.  It is tough enough for socialism to be supported by a vibrant economy but in these times it will be the straw that breaks the camel’s back.  Though he is referencing British politics in this quote, he may as well have been speaking specifically about Barack Obama with this:

He adds that hope does not trump experience. “We have politicians who simply haven’t had enough experience in the real world before going into politics to know how things run, to know how many beans make five,” Monckton notes.

That describes Full Of Hope empty suit Barack Obama to a T.  Your average McDonald’s manager has more experience with real world economics than does Obama.  All Americans are going to pay the price for our first American Idol President, even though almost half of us never got drunk on the false HopenChange nonsense.

Speaking of America and our woefully inexperienced new Commander In Chief, he writes:

“She is a large, and for the time being, a relatively prosperous nation, and I think that the likelihood I’m afraid is that Obama is going to change that for the worse. He has all the kindliness intentions I have no doubt; the left usually do,” he adds. “They would love to have motherhood and apple pie, as would we all. But they are so busy working out how to distribute the apple pie, that they never think about the people who are going to have to roll up their sleeves and bake it. And that’s the difficulty with socialism. It is all about redistribution and not about generation of wealth.”

I regularly argue, and will do so here again, that collectivism is fundamentally immoral.  Not only is it never really “compassion” when you are spending other peoples’ money, but the very ideas that underly the core of the Democrats’ principles imply that society owns me, that I am a cow to be milked for the common good.

In reality, the only people who do better under socialism are the losers.  And, of course, the socialist politicians who have bred the losers’ dependency on them.

  1. You know, I have to tell you, I really enjoy this blog and the insight from everyone who participates. I find it to be refreshing and very informative. I wish there were more blogs like it. Anyway, I felt it was about time I posted, Ive spent most of my time here just lurking and reading, but today for some reason I just felt compelled to say this.

  2. Ridiculous blog. There is nothing Socialist about Obama. The Republicans who do not seem to understand what Socialism is, are obsessed with trying to suggest it’s becoming of America. It isn’t.

Here in Britain, we’re a free market state. We’re not Socialist. The closest we came to Socialism, was the 1970s. The opposite them took affect with Thatcherism, which was a form of deregulated Capitalism, that lead to 60% of Liverpool’s workforce unemployed, mass unemployment across the country, mines being closed and the refusal to retrain those people, cut funding to the NHS (Which is a gem of Socialism, a beautiful creation, a national treasure) and a boom in house prices leading to my generation unable to get a foot on the property ladder.

Please Republicans, stop with the “Oh my god, Socialism is here” nonsense. It’s annoying now.

  3. You are entitled to your opinion. The level of UK state support for the losers, including your hideous public health service, is at the minimum a soft socialism. If you are more comfortable with the word, try collectivism. It is just as immoral.

I am not a Republican, sport, I just despise collectivism and have to vote against the larger socialists whenever I can.

The fact that lefties want to split hairs about the hard definition of socialism, rather than arguing the merits of the state owning me, says more about their position than anything that I could say.

Obama’s desire to give more money to people who pay no taxes is clear collectivism and not all that different from socialism: it takes money from the productive people in society and gives it to the losers. Collectivism is only good for losers.

  4. Who in the world would take seriously a quack-psychic who claims to know what others are thinking !!!??? … NOT ME !!! …
